Cayman Islands: The World’s Friendliest Sandbar
Grand Cayman is legendary for its dramatic wall dives, but let’s be honest—the real celebrity here is the sandbar. Stingray City is arguably the most famous shallow dive on the planet. It isn't about depth; it’s about pure interaction. You are kneeling in waist-deep, crystal-clear water while dozens of massive Southern Stingrays glide over you like friendly underwater puppies. It is chaotic, it is hilarious, and it is one of the few places on Earth where wild animals actually seek you out for a scratch behind the ears (and a snack).
Why We Chose This Sticker Design
We had to capture the "Stingray Selfie" vibe for this one. The Southern Stingray is the undisputed mascot of the Caymans, so we placed one right in the foreground, highlighting that distinct, cheeky "smile" that makes them so photogenic. We kept the background super minimal, using pale sands and electric light cyans to perfectly mimic that incredible high-noon visibility you get on the North Sound sandbar. It is a design that feels just as friendly and welcoming as the islands themselves.
Diving Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands built their reputation on walls and clarity. Little Cayman's Bloody Bay Wall is the standout — a drop-off that starts in around six metres of water and falls away thousands of metres into the blue, so sheer that you finish a dive hovering over the edge of an abyss. Grand Cayman adds Stingray City, a shallow sandbar where southern stingrays gather and which works as well for snorkellers as divers, and the USS Kittiwake, a purpose-scuttled submarine rescue vessel. Visibility routinely exceeds thirty metres.

What makes Bloody Bay Wall special?
It starts unusually shallow. Most Caribbean walls begin at 20 metres or deeper; Bloody Bay Wall on Little Cayman starts at around six metres and then drops thousands of metres straight down. That means you can hover over the lip in bright sunlight with an effectively bottomless blue beneath you, which is spectacular and slightly unnerving. The wall is covered in sponges and gorgonians, and the shallow start makes for long, safe dives with easy safety stops.
Can beginners dive in the Cayman Islands?
Yes, and it is one of the easier Caribbean destinations to learn in. Water is warm and calm, visibility is exceptional, and there are plenty of shallow reef and wreck sites. Stingray City sits in about four metres of water and works for snorkellers as well as divers. The walls demand good buoyancy and depth awareness, since the bottom drops away completely, so newer divers should dive them with a guide and a close eye on their computer.
